Hi DEJAPAN fans!
Did you know that you are able to ask questions or negotiate item prices with sellers from Flea Market sites (like Mercari, Rakuten Rakuma, and Yahoo Flea Market)?
For a non-refundable 100 JPY fee, we can help ask a question or try to negotiate up to 20% of the item price with the seller for you.
Please follow these steps to place these Requests with us!

Questions to Sellers
If you wish to ask a question to the seller, please follow these steps:
Step 1 – Enter Item URL
・Go to our Request Form. https://www.dejapan.com/en/request
・As the item URL, please enter the Request Form URL you want to ask about.
Step 2 – Fill in the Question Fee Information
・As the item name, please enter “Question Fee”
・As the item price, please enter “100”
・In the comment section, please enter the URL of the item you are asking the question about as well as your question.
・Confirm the Request Form information and then click “Add to Cart”
Repeat the process if you have more than 1 question, or more than 1 URL you want to ask about.
Step 3 – Complete 1st Payment
Once you’ve added the item to the cart, confirm the contents and complete payment.
If the seller answers your question, we will email you the answer.
Question Fees are 100 JPY per URL/per Question.
eg.
・1 Question x 3 URL = 300 JPY
・2 Questions x 1 URL = 200 JPY
Common Questions we ask Sellers:
- Additional photos or even specific photos of an item
- Clarifying specific details about an item that was missing
- Asking for the Mercari Appraisal Service
**Disclaimers**
- We cannot ask sellers about stock of unlisted items.
- Once we send the question to the seller, the 100 JPY Price Question fee cannot be refunded for any reason, even if the seller does not respond to your question.
- When requested to combine multiple orders from the same seller, please note that there will be a 100 JPY fee per URL which was combined.
- Question responses typically take time, and there may be delays in processing. Since we do not continuously monitor ongoing questions, immediate action may not always be possible.
- If any Service or Flea Market fee is charged to your question fee, the additional fees will be refunded via DEJ Points.
Price Negotiation
If you wish to negotiate with the seller, please follow these steps:
Step 1 – Enter Item URL
・Go to our Request Form. https://www.dejapan.com/en/request
・As the item URL, please enter the item URL you want to negotiate.
(Please select “No” if a pop-up appears)
Step 2 – Fill in the Negotiation Fee Information
・As the item name, please enter “Price Negotiation Fee”
・As the item price, please enter “100”
・Confirm Request Form information and then click “Add to Cart”
Step 3 – Enter Item Information
・Make a new Request with the same URL as the Fee
・Copy and Paste the Item Name (as written in Japanese) and add an Item Image
・As the Item Price, please enter the price you would like to negotiate. (We cannot negotiate more than 20% of the original item price.)
・In the comments section of the form, please write down the amount you would like to negotiate.
・Confirm the Request Form information and then click “Add to Cart”
Step 4 – Complete 1st Payment
Once you’ve added both items to the cart, confirm the information is accurate and Pay for Store so both items will be purchased under the same Order Number.
If the seller agrees to your offer, we will proceed with the purchase!
We will cancel the order if the seller declines. (If they provide a counter-offer, this will be mentioned in the cancellation email.)
**Disclaimers**
- Not all sellers accept price negotiations. Please be sure to check their item listing and profile before submitting a negotiation.
- Once we send the negotiation to the seller, the 100 JPY Price Negotiation fee cannot be refunded for any reason.
- Only one price negotiation can be submitted per Order Number. Any orders with more than one negotiation will be canceled.
- Please state the exact price you wish to negotiate.

Why do I have to pay service/handling fees just to ask a question? To ask 1 question, the website quotes me nearly 1000 yen after fees!
I am happy to pay 100 yen, but 1000 yen seems excessive.

Due to current system limitations, entering a flea market URL (Mercari, Rakuten Rakuma, etc.) into the Request Form will trigger the addition of the DEJAPAN service fee and the flea market handling fee in our system.
However, Question Fees should not be charged either of these fees.
As such, we have two different ways to handle this situation:
1. Proceed with the question fee order as usual; we will then refund the additional fees in DEJ points.
2. Instead of submitting the flea market URL in the Request Form, enter the Request Form URL itself into the form and add the flea market URL to the comments section. Complete the rest of the form as usual.
In cases where the Question Fee order has already been paid with the additional fees, we will refund those service fees to the customer as DEJ points once the Question order has been completed.
