A Step-by-Step Guide: Asking Questions And Negotiating Prices

Hi DEJAPAN fans!

Did you know that you are able to ask questions or negotiate item prices with sellers from Flea Market sites (like Mercari, Rakuten Rakuma, and Yahoo Flea Market)?

For a non-refundable 100 JPY fee, we can help ask a question or try to negotiate up to 20% of the item price with the seller for you.

Please follow these steps to place these Requests with us!

Questions to Sellers

If you wish to ask a question to the seller, please follow these steps:

Step 1 – Enter Item URL

・Go to our Request Form. https://www.dejapan.com/en/request
・As the item URL, please enter the item URL you want to ask about.
(Please select “No” if a pop-up appears)

Step 2 – Fill in the Question Fee Information

・As the item name, please enter “Question Fee”
・As the item price, please enter “100”
・In the comment section, please write your question.
・Confirm the Request Form information and then click “Add to Cart”

Step 3 – Complete 1st Payment

Once you’ve added the item to the cart, confirm the contents and complete payment.

If the seller agrees to your offer, we will proceed with the purchase!
We will cancel the order if the seller declines.
(If they provide a counter-offer, this will be mentioned in the cancellation email.)

Common Questions we ask Sellers:

  • Additional photos or even specific photos of an item
  • Clarifying specific details about an item that was missing
  • Asking for the Mercari Appraisal Service

**Disclaimers**

  1. We cannot ask sellers about stock of unlisted items.
  2. Once we send the question to the seller, the 100 JPY Price Question fee cannot be refunded for any reason, even if the seller does not respond to your question.
  3. When requested to combine multiple orders from the same seller, please note that there will be a 100 JPY fee per URL which was combined.
  4. Question responses typically take time, and there may be delays in processing. Since we do not continuously monitor ongoing questions, immediate action may not always be possible.

Price Negotiation

If you wish to negotiate with the seller, please follow these steps:

Step 1 – Enter Item URL

・Go to our Request Form. https://www.dejapan.com/en/request
・As the item URL, please enter the item URL you want to negotiate.
(Please select “No” if a pop-up appears)

Step 2 – Fill in the Negotiation Fee Information

・As the item name, please enter “Price Negotiation Fee”
・As the item price, please enter “100”
・Confirm Request Form information and then click “Add to Cart”

Step 3 – Enter Item Information

・Make a new Request with the same URL as the Fee
・Copy and Paste the Item Name (as written in Japanese) and add an Item Image
・As the Item Price, please enter the price you would like to negotiate. (We cannot negotiate more than 20% of the original item price.)
・In the comments section of the form, please write down the amount you would like to negotiate.
・Confirm the Request Form information and then click “Add to Cart”

Step 4 – Complete 1st Payment

Once you’ve added both items to the cart, confirm the information is accurate and Pay for Store so both items will be purchased under the same Order Number.

If the seller agrees to your offer, we will proceed with the purchase!
We will cancel the order if the seller declines. (If they provide a counter-offer, this will be mentioned in the cancellation email.)

**Disclaimers**

  1. Not all sellers accept price negotiations. Please be sure to check their item listing and profile before submitting a negotiation.
  2. Once we send the negotiation to the seller, the 100 JPY Price Negotiation fee cannot be refunded for any reason.
  3. Only one price negotiation can be submitted per Order Number. Any orders with more than one negotiation will be canceled.
  4. Please state the exact price you wish to negotiate.
    ✖ Negotiate 10% off the total price
    〇 Negotiate price to 2,300 JPY
  5. Negotiations typically take time, and there may be delays in processing. Since we do not continuously monitor ongoing negotiations, immediate action may not always be possible.
